Russian Cafe Looks Like A 2D Illustration
These offbeat images show a Russian black-and-white themed café that makes you feel like you are in a cartoon – or an A-ha video.
BWCafe, which has locations in Moscow and St Petersberg, was designed by artist Anfisa Toshina. It features furniture and décor all presented in bold inky lines against a white background, creating a 2D illusion that makes it look like a comic strip.
Norwegian synth-pop band A-ha revolutionised pop videos in 1985 with their comic book-influenced video for the song Take On Me.
The café serves drinks, snacks and desserts, but if you’re not planning on ordering anything the venue let you take Instagram-friendly pictures and videos for 250 rubles per person.
