Ru Paul’s Drag Race star Bosco shares results of Facial Feminisation Surgery
Ru Paul's Drag Race star Bosco has taken to Instagram to share the results of her Facial Feminisation Surgery. The gender-affirming surgery encompasses a broad range of procedures to change the shape of the face to look more feminine, and examples include having the hairline moved to create a smaller forehead, having lips and cheekbones augmented or having the jaw and chin reshaped and resized.
Bosco came out as transgender last year and debuted her new look at New York Fashion Week before sharing a photo on social media. "Surprise!" the season 14 queen wrote in the caption of the post. "My actual reveal was last week in #NYFW walking for @cucculellishaheen out of drag," the star went on. "Thank you for all the love."
Bosco's post quickly racked up over 100,000 likes and in the comments section, fans and celebrity friends alike shared their support for her. "GORGEOUS," commented Ru Paul's Drag Race judge Michelle Visage, as All Star's winner Kylie Sonique Love replied: "Angel."
"Literallly STUNNED!" commented fellow drag queen Naomi Smalls, with Kerri Colby writing: "Ugh there’s just so much yes here."
Announcing her transition in February 2022, Bosco tweeted "I can't really think of a better time to tell y'all so here it goes" alongside an emoji of the trans flag. Bosco went on to confirm that she uses she/they pronouns and spoke about how after filming wrapped on Ru Paul's Drag Race she turned her attention to her transition.
"I'm a very private person but it would feel silly to not talk about this while I have this platform. After filming wrapped this summer, I began focusing on figuring out what medical transitioning would look like for me. I started HRT [hormone replacement therapy] after getting back from Drag Race," she tweeted.
"This is something that's been on my mind for over a decade now," Bosco added, explaining that she finally found herself in a financially stable position that would support her transition alongside the "love" of those around her.
