The Cambridges bring out their fun side for the Platinum Jubilee Party at the Palace
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their young children George and Charlotte were all smiles at the Party at the Palace concert in honour of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee on Saturday.
The Cambridges were joined by other senior members of the Royal Family including Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, Princess Anne, Prince Edward and Sophie, Countess of Wessex for the special occasion.
Kate, 40, looked as polished as ever in a white tweed-style blazer, but her signature brunette locks were gently curled and thrown over one shoulder to cascade down, in an almost casual nature.

Also present for the variety performance were the Duke of Cambridge's cousins; Zara Tindall and her husband Mike Tindall came straight from the Epsom Derby, Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank were seen laughing and singing along, and Lady Louise Windsor and James, Viscount Severn joined their parents the Earl and Countess of Wessex.
Fresh from their first official visit to Wales, the eldest Cambridge children were seen giggling and laughing to comedian Lee Mack at the start of the performance and excitedly waving their Union Jack flags throughout the show.
Prince George and Princess Charlotte were also caught singing along to the numerous musical performances from an array of British artists from classic acts such as Queen with Adam Lambert, and a mix of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s best musical hits, to modern artists such as Mimi Webb and George Ezra.

The highlight of the evening for the royal children would undoubtedly be when they saw the Queen take the world by surprise at the beginning of the evening, as an acting sketch was displayed on the big screens of her sharing an afternoon tea with Paddington Bear.
The sketch, which opened the BBC’s Platinum Party at the Palace, showed the Queen inviting Paddington Bear for a “warm and hilarious” cream tea.

The sketch was a surprise even to some of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren watching in the audience who all giggled along as they watched the sketch pan out.
Her Majesty is well known for her sense of humour, so it should be no surprise that she decided to take part in tonight’s sketch,” said a palace spokesperson.
“There was an interest in the filming and animation process and the opportunity to invite a famous bear to tea was just too much fun to miss.”
The concert marks the end of three full days of celebrations in honour of the Queen’s 70 years on the throne.
The Queen, who turned 96 in April, withdrew from the national Service of Thanksgiving on Friday and from attending the annual Epsom Derby on Saturday after experiencing ‘some discomfort’ during the Platinum Jubilee Trooping the Colour celebrations on Thursday.
However, a Buckingham Palace spokesman said: “While the Queen may not be attending the concert in person, she was very keen that people understood how much it meant to her and that all those watching had a great time.”
And it looks like her Paddington Bear sketch did just that.
