Royal biographer's concern for Prince Harry
As Prince Harry and wife Meghan prepare for their son Archie’s christening this weekend, a royal biographer has revealed he worries for the duke.
Duncan Larcombe said the “PR disasters” that are happening “week in week out” aren’t helping Harry’s public image.
“My personal concern with Harry, as I say, I have known him since he was a teenager,” he told Good Morning Britain. “I worry for Harry because I think he deserves to be incredibly popular, so does Meghan.”
Keeping things private
The royal couple have regularly divided public opinion over their decisions to keep many of baby Archie’s milestones private and out of the public eye.
Most recently they revealed they want to keep the baptism ‘completely private,’ with photos to be released afterwards. Unlike the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, who have always allowed the media to capture their arrival at the christening with their children.
And given this decision came after the news Harry and Meghan had spent over £2.4m on their home renovations, it rubbed many people the wrong way.
Viscountess Hinchingbrooke, Julie Montagu, however defended the couple, who became parents seven weeks ago.
“Here’s the thing, he has just become a parent, seven weeks, they are still learning. Maybe they didn’t expect this backlash. Harry has always broken the rules,” she told the Good Morning Britain panel.
Photographer reveals ‘sulky’ royals
Duncan isn’t the only person who has expressed some concern regarding Prince Harry’s new ‘persona’.
Photographer Arthur Edwards has snapped the royal for The Sun for 40 years, and is repeatedly referred to as the closest photographer to the royal clan.
Recently however he published a personal account of the reality of working with Meghan and Harry, accusing the pair of projecting a poor attitude to their royal duties.
He said Harry has ‘sulked’ almost incessantly, and he no longer recognises the sweet young royal he watched grow up.
