Our favourite H&M collab yet is here – and full of Scandi glamour
Is it too soon to start outfit planning for party season? We don't think so, especially now that Copenhagen-based brand Rotate has teamed up with high-street favourite H&M on a second capsule collection.
Available online and in selected stories from 10 October, the new collab is a celebration of Scandinavian glamour, which is fitting as Rotate has become synopsis with party season.
Founded by creative directors Jeanette Madsen and Thora Valdimars in 2018, the duo were inspired by the gaps in their own wardrobes. They realised there was a need for bold party pieces that made women feel glamorous and empowered, and set out to close the gap.
'Since the very beginning, Rotate has been synonymous with glamour and extravagance inspired by the silhouettes of the 1980s, but brought to the modern woman. For this H&M collection, we wanted to celebrate this identity with a return to the same decade, looking to our muses like Blondie, Michelle Pfeiffer and Princess Diana,' they said.
Following the success of the brand's first collaboration with H&M, we were expecting big things for round two – and happily, we aren't disappointed. This collection brings together signature Rotate styles with 1980s details – think bold shoulders, puff sleeves, vibrant prints, metallic detailing and all the glitzy glamour for the party season. From mini dresses to co-ords, and tailoring in a colour palette that includes classic black and oxblood red as well as vibrant pinks, whites and silvers, it's a one-stop shop as we head towards Christmas.

The highlights? Well, for us it has to be the Carmen midi dress with its ruffled V-neck and statement zebra print, below. We're predicting this will be a bestseller given the rise and rise of all things animal print this season.
Other favourites include the Larelle blazer with its single embellished button, and the Kim mini, which has had the shiny black bubble organza treatment and is set to become a staple in your winter capsule.
There's a number of denim pieces we've got our eye on too, which have been given a Rotate update with a shiny metallic silver coating. The Dixie wide-leg jeans are an instant favourite, for starters.
Speaking about the new line, Madsen and Valdimars said: 'The H&M collection unapologetically celebrates new Scandinavian glamour. It’s a rejection of traditions and encourages confidence and boldness from the wearer.'
The H&M team are just as excited about the collaboration. Speaking about the collection, Ann-Sofie Johansson, Head of Design Womenswear and Creative Advisor at H&M said: 'Jeanette and Thora have such an eye for joyful, sophisticated design that makes people feel good about themselves. Which is what everyone wants for party season – and beyond.'
The Rotate x H&M partywear edit is now available online and in selected stores. We'll race you there!
