Rita Ora to return to Britain to judge The Masked Singer - report

Rita Ora is reportedly set to return to the U.K. to judge the third series of The Masked Singer.

The R.I.P. hitmaker has not set foot in her native Britain for the past nine months after moving to Los Angeles and embarking on a romance with Oscar-winning filmmaker Taika Waititi.

She left the U.K. after causing uproar by hosting a 30th birthday party that broke Covid-19 restrictions last November, and did not return to judge spin-off show The Masked Dancer, despite being on the panel for the first two Masked Singer series.

However, a source close to Rita has told The Sun that she is set to end her exile to reprise her role judging celebrities' performances beneath elaborate costumes for the show's third run.

"She loves doing the show and though she has set up a new life in L.A., she was determined to still take part," the insider shared. "She has been out of the U.K. for the whole of 2021 but she won't be back for long because at the moment the trip is only scheduled for a fortnight."

Explaining the reasons behind Rita making her return a flying visit, they added: "There will be strict Covid rules on set but she's hoping to see some family and friends while she's here. It's really important to her. The events of last year very much tainted the U.K. for her. She sees this as a working trip. L.A. is her home now."

Rita relocated to the U.S. despite spending out £7.5 million on a new London home at the start of the year.

However, shortly after, the singer fell for New Zealand-based director Taika while in Sydney to judge The Voice Australia, and they have set up home together in Los Angeles following a whirlwind romance.

Fans have speculated that the couple are engaged after the musician and TV star posted, then deleted, an Instagram Stories snap of her hand with the ring finger obscured by a flame emoji last week.
