This singer just never stops wowing us, and now she’s doing good things for humanity. Rihanna’s latest move to save the world is to partner with Chinese based bike-sharing company ofo to donate bicycles to female scholarship students in Malawi, East Africa. It’s a country she has visited before and been very vocal about in regard to education — and it’s not the only country Rihanna’s given aid to. Apparently, many kids in Malawi travel long distances to reach their school, and the drop-out rate is very high — Time notes that only 8% of students complete secondary school. Donating bikes will help with the commute and hopefully ease some of the stress associated with completing schoolwork.

It’s hard to fathom that such a simple change could be significant, because we tend to take things like transportation for granted. But Rihanna’s effort is so incredibly thoughtful and specific to their needs. There’s no doubt that it will make a huge, long-lasting impact on attendance and academic progress.

It’s clear that Rihanna has a huge heart.

Bikes have already been distributed, and positive change is happening.

“I’m so happy about the Clara Lionel Foundation’s new partnership with ofo because it will help so many young people around the world receive a quality education, and also help the young girls of Malawi get to school safely, cutting down those very long walks they make to and from school all alone,” Rihanna said in a statement.

The Clara Lionel Foundation (Rihanna’s nonprofit organization) and ofo partnership is called the “1 KM Action” plan. We can’t wait to see all of the good that it does.

This woman just never stops working to make the world a better place, does she?

Thanks for continuing to look out for communities who are less fortunate, Rihanna. The work you do with your foundation inspires us every day.
