Return To Paradise's Glenn Strong star Tai Hara married for 7 years to famous wife
Australian actor Tai Hara is currently on our screens as Glen Strong in Death In Paradise spin-off series Return To Paradise. While many fans will recognise him for his roles in Home And Away and Colin From Accounts, Tai has an equally well-known wife, Fely Irvine, who was a member of children’s musical group Hi-5 before becoming a contestant on The Voice.
The couple first met when they both auditioned to become members of Hi-5, with Fely winning a place in the band but Tai not getting picked. Two years after that first meeting, Tai proposed to Fely at Drum castle in Scotland, while the couple were on a trip through Europe. Speaking to Australian mag, New Idea, Tai spoke about the moment he finally got down on one knee in Scotland. He said: "Obviously, I’d been planning it for quite a long time. I’d been carrying that ring around Europe for two weeks wrapped in three different bags and a sock, because it wasn’t as if I could hide it in the hotel safe. I was terrified that someone was going to steal my luggage!"
The couple married two years after his romantic proposal, on 6 February 2017 in Bali. Tai shared a photo of the happy couple with the caption: “Nothing compares.”

Since then, the pair have shared photos of their trips together on social media, and also announced Fely’s pregnancy in 2020 with a clip in which she sang while Tai played the guitar. They ended the clip with the words: “Can’t wait to meet you baby irvine hara.”
Their daughter Chi was born on 15 October 2020, and was followed by son Soleil on 27 January 2023.
Tai’s professional life has gone from strength to strength, too. The Sydney-born actor, who is 34, made his screen debut in the US science fiction series Terra Nova and then went on to play Andy Barrett for three years from 2013 on Home And Away. He also starred alongside Dominic Cooper and Brassic’s Joe Gilgun in the cult TV series Preacher and competed in the 14th series of the Australian version of Strictly Come Dancing, Dancing With The Stars.
As well as recognising him for his new role in Return To Paradise, Colin From Accounts fans will know him as Ashley’s ex-boyfriend James, and his role in the series led to his first onscreen pairing with his real-life wife. In the first series of the show, he shared a kiss with a nurse named Tessa, and Tessa was played by Fely.
“Fel and I actually haven’t had the chance to work together professionally, so it was our first chance to do that. It was absolutely amazing,” Tai told News.com.au at the time. “It’s always so much fun to get to do anything with the person you love… That was a bit of fun too, a little bit of role-play there.”
