Release date announced for Great Pottery Throw Down Christmas special
Every year we love watching amateur potters compete on The Great Pottery Throw Down – so we're really excited that the show is returning for another Christmas special this December!
The Great Pottery Throw Down Christmas special release date has been announced: it will air on Boxing Day (26 December) on Channel 4 at 9pm.
The show will follow the same format as previous Christmas specials – four celebrities must test their ceramic skills through two pottery challenges, set by expert judges Keith Brymer Jones and Rich Miller. As ever, the show will be presented by Derry Girls actress Siobhan McSweeney. At the end of the show, one of the celebrities will be crowned winner.
This year, the celebrity contestants joining the judges at Gladstone Pottery in Stoke on Trent are comedian Babatunde Aleshe, actor Tom Rosenthal, TV presenter Rachel Riley and singer and actor Martin Kemp.
News of the Christmas special was announced on Pottery Throw Down's Instagram page, with a picture of the four contestants with Rich, Keith and Siobhan. Alongside the picture, the caption said: "Let it throw, let it throw, let it throw.
"The Festive Pottery Throw Down airs Boxing Day at 9pm on Channel 4. Joining Keith, Rich and Siobhán are Babatunde Aleshe, Tom Rosenthal, Rachel Riley and Martin Kemp."
In last year's Festive Pottery Throw Down, Joe Swash, Alice Levine, Hugh Dennis and Sophie Duker took to the potter's wheel. They were challenged to make a birdhouse and as many nibbles bowls as they could under time pressure.
We can't wait to see how this year's contestants get on!
