Solutions

1:C - Reindeers can’t chew carrots properly because they don’t have the right teeth. If you want to leave them a snack for Christmas Eve, they love moss, lichen, herbs, grasses and the shoots and leaves of trees., 2:D - Christmas pyjamas exist because someone had the idea that it would be cosy, fun and festive to wear them. Through advertising they’ve become more and more popular. But don’t feel you need to wear them – you can wear whatever you like!, 3:B - Myrrh is a resin from trees that originally grew in east Africa as well as Oman and Saudi Arabia. In olden times it was used as a perfume and was believed to have healing properties., 4:D - Snow is made of frozen water crystals, surrounded by air. It contains more air than water., 5:A - Christmas crackers contain two cardboard strips treated with a tiny amount of gunpowder – nitrate, charcoal and sulphur. When you pull a cracker, the force makes friction between the strips that generates heat to set off the gunpowder. The shape of the cracker makes the noise louder, so you get a big BANG!
