He was previously an NFL analyst for Fox Sports from 2019-2023 and contributed to FS1 daily shows. He was also an NFL analyst for ESPN.
Bush won two national college football titles and the 2005 Heisman Trophy while at USC. But a shadow was cast over that period five years after he left for the NFL, when the NCAA alleged an arrangement between a would-be marketer and Bush’s parents.
In 2004-2005, the NCAA handed down unprecedented sanctions and punishments for Bush. USC was forced to vacate their 2004 national championship and 14 victories for which Bush was on the field from 2004 to 2005. Bush made the choice to return the Heisman he earned after his illustrious 2005 season.
In 2023, Bush filed a defamation lawsuit against the NCAA. His attorneys issued a statement about the lawsuit, claiming the NCAA falsely issued a statement in July 2021 that damaged his reputation. Since that time, the NCAA instituted a new name, image, and likeness (NIL) compensation rule that went into effect in 2021. Following the lead of states like California, the NCAA has approved compensation for a player’s NIL.
Bush and producer Jojo Ryder are in pre-production on a documentary about the 2004-2005 period, which will be taken to market by Paradigm.
In entertainment, Bush he has appeared on TV series including All American: Homecoming. He also has appeared on the covers of national magazines including Sports Illustrated and Men’s Fitness.
Bush continues to be represented by Loeb & Loeb LLP.
