Reba McEntire has stolen our hearts many times over the years. From her chart-topping rendition of “Fancy” and Golden Globe-nominated performance on her namesake show to her new restaurant in Atoka, Oklahoma, and hilarious entrance as a judge on “The Voice,” we didn’t think it was possible to love McEntire any more.

Then, we heard about her love for one of our favorite fast food chains.

You might think that someone who owns the restaurant Reba’s Place, which serves up delicious comfort food like beer cheese, BLTs, and chicken fried steak, would spend most of her time either at the restaurant or cooking up some homemade goodies. However, McEntire has consistently shared her love for the fast food restaurant Sonic—and, more specifically, for Sonic’s tater tots.

Reba McEntire's Go-To Fast Food Order

McEntire appeared on a recent episode of “Late Night with Seth Meyers” to promote her new book “Not That Fancy,” which features stories and recipes from her life. Despite the fact that the book shares recipes directly from McEntire’s kitchen—as well as Reba’s Place’s kitchen—Meyers asked especially about her tater tot recipe.

“You get in your car, and you put it in reverse. Get out of the garage and drive down the road, and you find your nearest Sonic,” McEntire said. “Pull in the entrance, not the exit. You pull in one of them little slots and you push that red button and you say, ‘Can I have me some tater tots?’ And I hope they don’t say, ‘We’re out.’”

It’s not super surprising that McEntire loves Sonic as it was founded in Oklahoma, which is where the country singer is from. What is surprising, however, is just how much McEntire loves tater tots.

“Tater Tot” is even her nickname given to her by her boyfriend, Rex Linn, who she says also enjoys Sonic’s Tots. In fact, McEntire said her and Linn’s 2022 Valentine’s Day meal consisted of Sonic’s tater tots.

“We love Sonic tater tots, they’re absolutely wonderful,” McEntire said in a TikTok video with Garth Brooks. “To go in there and get a Number 1 Cheeseburger with everything on it and tater tots, man, that’s a great Valentine’s dinner. We loved it.”

She even brought her love for the crispy potato snack with her to “The Voice.” It’s tradition for the coaches to give their singers a gift when they join the team—and while most of the coaches give custom team-branded clothing, McEntire (iconically) handed out baskets of tater tots. We support that choice.

While there might not be a perfectly spot-on at-home version of the Sonic Cheeseburger, we wonder if McEntire knows you can buy Sonic’s Tots at Walmart? If not, someone get this woman a freezer full of tots, stat!
