On a Costco shopping trip, it’s easy to be stopped by the temptations of the snack aisle and the bakery section. But if you really want to see Costco’s wholesale magic in action, make your way to the meat and seafood department. While the rotisserie chicken is a fan-favorite, there are plenty of other hidden gems on those fridge shelves that impress with both their quality and price.

In fact, a fresh, new drop has been causing a stir in the Costco seafood section, and, as your regular grocery store reporters, we had to share it with you.

Costco’s New Sashimi Trays

Costco now offers fresh and premium sashimi in ready-to-eat trays. We can’t speak for all grocery store sushi, but Costco has consistently earned a reputation for its high-quality seafood, making this new find a must-try for sashimi lovers.

The tray comes with a full pound of thinly sliced fish: salmon, ahi tuna, and even buttery Hokkaido scallops. For those who appreciate a clean, simple preparation of seafood, this is as good as it gets. Plus, it comes with all the necessary accoutrements like soy sauce, wasabi, and pickled ginger, just like you’d find at your favorite sushi spot.

Now, you might look at the size of the tray and think it’s enough food for a small family, but Costco shoppers are sharing that they’ve eaten the whole thing by themselves. “Ate it all by myself... and I’m not sorry,” one fan proudly admitted, and we can’t blame them. The taste of the fish is so “nice and buttery,” it’s hard to stop once you start. “The tuna quality is excellent,” one reviewer shared.

So, what’s the cost of this top-quality meal? $32.99, which might feel a bit splurge-y at first. But, when you think about what you pay for fresh, premium-grade sashimi at a restaurant or even another grocery store, Costco’s offering is a steal. “That is an incredible price and looks SO good!!” one fan commented. “It’s so much sashimi!!” another added.

Instagram creator @costcohotfinds originally spotted the trays in Glendale, California, but others have reported seeing them in Seattle and other West Coast locations so far.

If you love fresh fish and can’t resist a great deal, this sashimi tray should definitely make it onto your Costco shopping list. The freshness, quality, and portion size are so good, you might just find yourself devouring the entire tray in one sitting. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.
