In testing, we found this Whirlpool washer the best top-load cleaner with an agitator built-in. This means the appliance has two types of washing machines in its build: a pole agitator cleaner and a modern impeller system cleaner. The pole can be removed from the cleaning drum just by squeezing its handle at the top while still giving your clothes a good shine. However, we recommend using the pole agitator system as it removes more stains from items than those in the impeller system.
If you want to be more thorough in your cleaning, the Whirlpool cleaner also has a pretreating station. This includes a specialized brush with a detergent reservoir for handling tough stains.
