Rapper Slowthai bursts into tears as he's cleared of raping two women at house party
British rapper Slowthai has been cleared of rape during a trial at Oxford Crown Court on Monday (16 December). The 29-year-old musician, whose real name is Tyron Frampton, was accused of raping two women at a house party after a gig in September 2021.
Appearing in court, Slowthai was seen in tears as he was cleared of three charges against the two women, while his co-accused, Alex Blake Walker, 27, was also cleared of three joint charges of rape and an additional charge of sexual assault against the second complainant. On the day in question, Slowthai had performed at The Bullingdon music venue in Oxford when he and Alex met the two complainants, one which was described as a “huge fan” of Slowthai during the trial.
Following the gig, the two complainants went to his tour bus before heading to their friend’s house for a party – with Slowthai and Alex joining the group. The quartet then went on to the roof of the property, where the women claimed they were raped.

While the rapper agreed that sexual activity took place, he and Alex told the court on Monday that it was consensual. In his evidence to the jury, Slowthai said the allegations brought up against him were “just not true” and that the women were “lying”.
After a two-week trial and ten hours of deliberation from the jury, the verdicts were read out by the Jury and both Slowthai and Alex were cleared. Judge Ian Pringle KC told the court this case has “raised a lot of high feelings”, as Slowthai was seen in an emotional state.
Relatives and friends of the accused, including the rapper's singer-songwriter wife Anne-Marie, whom he married in 2022, sighed in relief as the verdicts were read out, and cheered loudly outside the courtroom. Walking out of Oxford Crown Court alongside his wife, Slowthai declined to comment on the verdicts.
