The Queen has wished her great-grandson Archie Mountbatten-Windsor a happy 2nd birthday via social media.

The Royal Family's official Twitter account shared a photo of Archie as a newborn in the arms of his father, Prince Harry, with his mother Meghan Markle at his side.

The message read: 'Wishing Archie Mountbatten-Windsor a very happy 2nd birthday today'.

The Queen isn't the only royal to mark the little boy's special day from afar. His grandfather, Prince Charles, has also posted a photo along with birthday greetings.

Archie now lives in California with his parents, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, following their decision to step down as senior royals last year. Meghan is currently pregnant with their second child, a little girl, who is due in the summer.

Unlike the Cambridges', who often share birthday photos of their children on Instagram, the Sussexes have left social media so it's unlikely we will see a new photo this year.
