Queen Letizia takes style cues from every fashion editor’s new favourite TV show
Queen Letizia of Spain stepped out in Madrid on Wednesday, March 22, to visit an exhibition in honour of illustrious medieval Spanish Humanist Antonio de Nebrija at the country's National Library.For the occasion the Spanish royal donned a dress that gave everyone at the Hello! Fashion office major 1970s vibes. An iconic decade as far as fashion is concerned, the 1970s gave us Disco and thanls to the popularity of the club scene (Studio 54 anyone?) it made way for iconic trends such as flares, halter necks and supersized platforms. Halston, Gucci and Fiorucci are just a few of the designer names that captured the hearts of the fashion set back then, and are still popular now.Letizia gave the aesthetic a royal makeover, by opting for matching tonal accessories and her trademark sleek blowdry. The costumes donned by Riley Keough, Camila Morrone and Suki Waterhouse perfectly encapsulate the spirit of the Fleetwood Mac era of music and free love. Recently Queen Letizia has worn another 1970s staple, the tie-neck dress. Last week the Spanish royal attended the delivery of the FMRE (Forum of Renowned Spanish Brands) Accreditations in a vibrant red midi dress by Poète with a high neckline and a waist-length tie which she wore undone. The garment has also been having something of a moment of late, worn by the likes of Princess Beatrice and Sweden's Crown Princess Victoria to name but a few of its converts.Like this story?
