The Queen Consort leads Palace garden party in royal blue

The Queen Consort opted for a stylish striped look in royal blue to lead the first official garden party of 2023 at Buckingham Palace.

The King and Queen Consort hosted the formal event in the grounds of the Palace and invited hundreds of special guests to thank them for their work in their local communities.

"Among those invited today were some of the 500 ‘Coronation Champions’ - exceptional volunteers who have been selected by the Royal Voluntary Service to mark this special Coronation year," explained a post on the Royal Family's social media accounts.

The garden parties are hosted by members of the Royal Family, "to recognise and reward those who have made a positive impact in their communities."

For the occasion, The Queen Consort chose a white and navy panelled coat dress and chic woven hat in the same shades, which she wore at a slight angle.

Also in attendance were the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester and the Duke of Kent.

The Duchess of Edinburgh (formerly Sophie, Countess of Wessex) wore a pastel pink and white checked dress coat with white accessories. Her own hat was an intricate choice, featuring curls of ribbon and an asymmetric design.
