If your new style inspiration is supermarket workers, then look no further than Puma.

ASOS is currently selling a £70 zip-up jacket that looks a little too like Sainsbury’s maroon-and-orange uniform.

Yes, it’s a quintessentially British look but people are questioning who would spend their money on something that people are given for free. To keep warm. At work.

“Why would you wanna pay £70 to look like you’re scanning groceries in Sainsbury’s?” tweeted one confused person.

“For just £70, you too could look like you work at Sainsbury’s & the bosses couldn’t supply your size,” wrote someone else.

Some people can’t see the look ever catching on (although we’re not so sure).

“I can’t see ‘Supermarket Chic’ catching on,” said one Twitter user.

And of course, some Sainsbury’s employees are also starting to wonder if they can sell theirs for a bit of extra cash.

“Always said my sainos fleece was top quality,” tweeted one employee.

“I can give them authentic milk stained ones for cheaper,” echoed another.

“I’ve got a couple of spares people can have for £50,” wrote a budding entrepreneur.

Fashion. It’s a weird one, isn’t it?
