The Princess of Wales wears blue Self-Portrait dress ahead of the coronation – here's where to shop
The Princess of Wales never fails to look chic, timeless and event-appropriate, and her coronation style is no different. Kate added to her royal fashion repertoire ahead of the coronation of King Charles III, in not one, but two elegant ensembles.
For a special luncheon – held by the King and Queen Consort hosted for Realm Governors General and Prime Ministers – Kate dressed up for the occasion in a white custom Jenny Packham dress. Known for her classic style, Kate teamed the design with a pair of heels by Aquazzura – a favourite style of both her and Meghan Markle's – and made a subtle nod to the late Queen by wearing her Bahrain pearl drop earrings.
Following the lunch, Kate joined the Prince of Wales visiting well-wishers and spectators camping along the Mall outside Buckingham Palace before the coronation. Later that day, she attended a special reception at Buckingham Palace for foreign heads of state, with America's first lady Dr. Jill Biden and Ukraine's first lady Olena Zelenska.
While she's a fan of timeless tailoring, heritage classics and relying on her favourite labels, the royal isn't afraid to go bold with colour. Kate dressed for the reception in a royal blue dress by Self-Portrait that featured a statement criss-cross neckline; she matched the vivid hue with her accessories, wearing the Queen Mother's sapphire and diamond earrings.
Kate joins other senior members of the royal family today (6 May) – including William, their three children and Prince Harry – as King Charles III is crowned monarch of the United Kingdom, alongside Camilla as his Queen Consort, at Westminster Abbey in London.
