Princess Charlotte turned 8 years old today (Tuesday, 2 May) and the Princess of Wales shared a sweet photograph of her daughter to mark the occasion.
On the Prince and Princess of Wales' official instagram, Kate posted a photo she took of Princess Charlotte herself. In the photo, the young royal grins at the camera in a white, frill-collared dress with a delicate pattern of pastel flowers.
The image was shared on Monday (1 May), a day ahead of the birthday with the caption, "Wishing Princess Charlotte a very happy birthday! 8 tomorrow."
Last year, Princess Charlotte turned seven and the family shared charming snaps of her in the woods in Norfolk in honour of the occasion,
Sharing two photos to Instagram the night before the little princess' birthday, Charlotte can be seen surrounded by bluebells, beaming with her arm around her pet dog Orla.
As is also tradition, the photos were also taken by keen photographer, the then Duchess of Cambridge, noted in the caption which read; "Seven tomorrow! 🎂 📸 The Duchess"
Dressed all in blue, the young royal wore a sweet cable knit with navy trousers, and the scalloped collar of a polka dot blouse can be seen neatly worn over the jumper.
Her long flowing honey coloured hair worn loose over the shoulders she looks every bit the young lady.
But that wasn't all the photos, on Monday evening the account shared a third photo thanking fans and followers, writing in the caption; "Thank you for all the lovely messages on Princess Charlotte’s seventh birthday! 📸 The Duchess."
Princess Charlotte was born at the private maternity Lindo Wing of St Mary's Hospital in London on 2 May 2015.
