The Princess of Wales has joined forces with presenter and mental health campaigner Roman Kemp for an important new project.

Kate and Roman have launched an initiative around mental health as part of the new "Shaping Us" campaign from the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood, a personal project of Kate's.

Kate shared a preview video to her instagram account and wrote in the caption, "A big part of #ShapingUs is talking about our early years, our experiences and what we can all do to help shape happier, healthier lives."

In the video, The Princess and Roman can be seen taking a walk in the countryside as they discuss Roman's experience with mental health, and the wider impact it can have from a young age.

“I know how passionate you are about mental health," Kate says, before Roman admits, “I wish I wasn’t associated with the word suicide.”

“The importance of having healthy and strong relationships in a child’s life is really critical," says Kate, later on in the clip. "This isn’t just about raising kids, it’s about shaping our future.”

On Thursday (2 February) Kate shared a black and white photograph of the pair and revealed that an "important conversation" would be released the following day.

The Shaping Us campaign was officially launched earlier this week with a special animation starring a character called Layla.

To mark the occasion, Kate held a special launch event at BAFTA in London with a star-studded attendance including Roman Kemp, Rochelle Humes, Fearne Cotton and more.
