The Princess of Wales reminded us of the late Princess Diana on Tuesday (4 February), as she stepped out hand in hand with a group of school children to announce a special project.

Kate was at The National Portrait Gallery in London to launch a new initiative from The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood, which she spearheads. She was joined by a group of young children on the day, to kick off the new scheme aimed at supporting children in developing social and emotional skills from a young age.

Like Kate, Princess Diana also worked with children, and was snapped out in Pimlico while a nursery school assistant in January 1981, holding hands with pupils from the Young England kindergarten. Looking back at the photo today, it is reminiscent of Kate's own outing with children in London this week.

The Princess's visit comes a day after a new photograph was released, which showed her out enjoying nature. It was captured by her youngest child, Prince Louis. Sharing the photo on social media, Kate captioned it, "Don’t forget to nurture all that which lies beyond the disease. #WorldCancerDay".

In the joyful image, The Princess grins with her arms held out wide while standing in the centre of a frost covered forest. Behind her, the winter sun shines through the trees.

To mark World Cancer Day, The King also shared a special compilation video with messages from leading experts as well as celebrities. They included Strictly's Amy Dowden, who has been public about her own experience with cancer.
