Princess Kate Has Given a Hint at Her Coronation Ensemble
Catherine, Princess of Wales, has offered a hint of what she'll wear to King Charles' coronation.
Last Thursday, Prince William and Princess Kate visited the city of Birmingham to celebrate the area's diverse cultures and creative industries. During the outing, the couple shared a moment with This Morning host Alison Hammond, where the TV personality took the chance to ask about Kate's outfit plans for the festivities.
"I said, 'What are you wearing for the coronation?'" Hammond recalled on Friday's episode of This Morning. "Cause I said to her, 'I'm feeling like you're gonna wear blue.'"
"She was like, 'There is a hint of blue.' So I was like, fantastic!" Hammond said.
Following the event, the Great British Baking Show host also shared a selfie of herself with the Waleses, promising them dinner at her place next time they're in town. The couple responded with a red heart emoji and the comment, "Always fun Alison, it's always fun!"
The princess has incorporated shades of blue in several of her most iconic looks, including the navy Issa gown she wore to her and William's engagement announcement, and the pale blue Alexander McQueen ensemble she wore to Trooping the Colour 2018. She also re-wore her timeless royal blue Catherine Walker coat for royal Easter services earlier this month.
In addition to speculation on her ensemble, royal watchers are wondering whether Princess Kate will wear a tiara—a rare accessory choice for the royal—for the pared-down coronation ceremony. Per People, it's possible Kate may break royal tradition by forgoing a tiara and wearing a more casual topper, such as a hat or a fascinator. "The conversation around the decision is still ongoing," according to the outlet.
