Princess Eugenie well and truly smashed royal tradition with her third wedding dress
Princess Eugenie has well and truly broken royal tradition with her third, and final wedding dress.
For her festival themed, evening reception, she changed out of her beautiful Zac Posen gown, and into a custom white mini dress and pink satin biker jacket, embroidered with "Mrs Brooksbank". Designed by Sam Dougal, creative director and co-founder at Gainsbourg, who shared an exclusive sketch with Harper's Bazaar.
While Eugenie may have defied royal tradition with her second wedding dress, she well and truly smashed it with her third. Acknowledging this, Dougal told Harper's Bazaar, "The look is an exciting and unusual one for a royal wedding, and had to go with the feel of the day."
"To imagine a royal bride in a biker jacket celebrating her wedding at Windsor Castle – it's fun and unexpected."
Who knew Eugenie was such a rule breaker? Move over Meghan.
Her Zac Posen gown defied tradition due to the blush pink colour, both Kate and Meghan chose white for their second wedding dresses and Eugenie's decision to go with an American designer, instead of a British one.
This combined with the fact that she purposefully designed her dress to show her scoliosis surgery scar, in order to "change the way beauty is", makes Eugenie our current favourite princess.
Just don't tell Meghan, or Kate, ok?
