It's always interesting when a member of the royal family spills the tea on certain aspects of their life away from the cameras - especially when it comes to some of the bizarre rules they're required to follow. From being 'forbidden' to take selfies to the news of a new baby being kept secret until the monarch hears about it first, there are plenty of do's and don'ts to be learned in the royal world.

Most recently, Princess Eugenie has offered yet another piece of royal etiquette while appearing on Jessie Ware and her mum Lennie's podcast, Table Manners. During the chat, the 33-year-old let slip that her late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth refused to allow her family - particularly the working members - to eat garlic or onion-based dishes for fear of bad breath. She revealed that the bulb-based foods were specifically a no-no if a royal engagement was taking place the next day.

According to Eugenie, the rule has remained a staple one at her parent's dinner tables, too, with the princess sharing that she's not "allowed" to eat anything with onion or garlic while around them.

Thankfully, the same rules don't apply at her own house, as Eugenie told Jessie and Lennie that the two 'forbidden fruits' are non-negotiables on her shopping list. Describing her weekly shop as "nothing interesting" with chicken, sausages, potatoes, onion, and garlic all making the cut, Eugenie even confessed her love for "one-pot" meals.

See? She's just like the rest of us.
