Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank's upcoming nuptials will see a break from the traditional royal wedding set-up we're used to, a new report suggests.

The couple, who became engaged in January, are to marry in St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle (the same venue chosen by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in May) on 12 October.

There has already been speculation that, following the ceremony and carriage procession through Windsor High Street, the Queen will host a reception for the newlyweds before the Duke and Duchess of York hold an evening wedding party in the grounds of the Royal Lodge, which is the York family home.

But the celebrations won't end there. According to The Sunday Times, the couple have hired the same party planners responsible for David and Victoria Beckham's lavish ceremony in 1999.

The couple are reportedly planning a second day event for the Saturday which will feature a 'festival and funfair' themed party in the grounds of the Royal Lodge, organised by luxe event planners Bentleys Entertainment.

A source told the newspaper this day-after-the-night-before party will be more 'relaxed' with 'dodgems and funfair rides, coconut shies, lots of food stalls, loads of cocktails, bloody Marys for the hangovers and a festival vibe'.

Though, traditionally, royal weddings are one-day affairs – as was the case with Harry and Meghan's ceremony earlier this year – the younger generations of royals have sought to add some more modern touches to their wedding days in recent years.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge famously drove out of Buckingham Palace in a vintage car with the registration plate 'JU5T WED', while the Duchess of Sussex walked part of the aisle by herself and gave a speech at the reception.
