Princess Charlotte doppelgänger apparently mistakes the actual princess for herself
It’s most little girls’ dream to be a princess and one three-year-old looks so much like a royal that sometimes she thinks she is the young princess.
Three-year-old Scarlett Evered looks so similar to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s daughter, she is often approached by complete strangers to point out the resemblance, her mum told the Sun.
“You’ll be in the supermarket and people come up and say she looks just like her,” said 38-year-old Victoria Evered. “It happens especially if her hair is down because the parting falls in a similar way to Princess Charlotte’s.”
In fact, sometimes the child thinks Princess Charlotte is herself on TV.
“I always show her Princess Charlotte on the television and a couple of times she’s thought it’s actually her,” said the mum.
It was after the the three-year-old’s grandmother pointed out her royal resemblance, that Evered submitted her daughter’s photos to a lookalike agency. The Orpington, Kent, doppelganger was hired the following weekend – and has been appearing in campaigns by Asda and My 1st Years ever since.
Admitting her daughter loves the attention, the three-year-old even has a lookalike family who is featured in a lot of the same campaigns – including a viral video campaign for Asda to mark the Queen’s 90 birthday.
“It was amazing. There were lookalikes for Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge. She loved every minute of it. They were filming so the director was keeping them separate but people were walking past and doing a double take. It was hilarious,” said the mum of three.
Evered admits she thought the initial shoot would be a one off, but her daughter is now signed with three different agencies – and the opportunities continue to flood in.
Appearing in another two videos for Asda, as well as a video for Pizza Express, the doppelganger won a lookalike competition in 2017.
This award resulted in her being part of the grand opening of a Christmas fairground at Dreamland alongside her other Cambridge lookalikes.
“It was lovely for her. She got to walk around the park and meet Father Christmas and got to go ice skating before everybody else arrived. They took pictures of her with the other lookalikes on the ice rink then people were coming over to speak to her,” said Evered.
“She loved it. She’s a very sociable, friendly, outgoing little girl and it comes very naturally to her.”
To mark the birth of Prince Louis, the 3-year-old appeared in a modelling campaign alongside a Meghan Markle lookalike.
“This year to mark the birth of the royal baby she did a campaign for My 1st Years’ Royal Collection. That was her first modelling campaign and she really took to it,” said the child’s mum.
Proud of her daughter’s professionalism, Evered says they both admire the royal family and would love to meet the real Princess Charlotte some day.
“I’ll be over the moon if she can continue to do it. We have a lovely memory book of all her press cuttings so that she can see it when she’s older,” she said.
“We love the royal family. I think they do us proud as a country so it’s really nice to have this memorabilia. I would love her to meet Princess Charlotte one day – that would be amazing.”
As for the three-year-old’s real siblings, they think their sister’s fame is funny given her diva tendencies.
“She is a bit of a diva and I think that comes with having older brothers – they do love to spoil her. She’s the princess in our family,” she said.
“Her brothers love it. They think it’s hilarious. Every time she’s in the paper or part of a campaign they take it in to show their classmates at school. They’re so proud of her – especially when she won the competition.”
