Princess Charlene of Monaco Claps Back About Criticism Over Her New Haircut

Princess Charlene of Monaco is defending her decision to cut off her hair, and all we have to say is…yaaasss!

Yesterday, the 42-year-old royal sat down for an interview with Point de Vue and addressed criticism about her “half-hawk” hairstyle, which features a partial buzz cut.

“This haircut was my decision,” she told the French magazine, according to People. “It seems that it has provoked all kinds of comments, but it turns out that I wanted it for a long time. The style pleases me. That’s all.” *Hand flutter*

Princess Charlene first debuted her new look back in December 2020 when she was spotted at the royal family’s annual Christmas party. Although her husband, Prince Albert, was shocked at first, she confirmed that he’s grown to like it.

“The remarks of ‘But what is she doing?’ and ‘But it’s not royal!’ I know these all too well. And I have nothing to say to them, except that we’re in 2021 and that in these times—which are so troubling, so difficult—there are other, much more important subjects which deserve our attention.”

Princess Charlene also confirmed that it won’t be the first time she tries a new hairstyle, adding, “Certainly, of all the members of royal families, I’m probably the one who has tried the most different hairstyles, and I’ll continue. That’s my choice.”

Way to silence the critics, Princess Charlene.
