Princess Beatrice's dress choice divides opinion – here's why

Princess Beatrice looked beautiful as ever as she visited the immersive BBC Earth Experience at London's Daikin Centre on Wednesday evening – but some royal fans are divided on her fashion choice.

The royal once again chose one of her favourite designers, The Vampire's Wife, for her evening out – wearing the 'Corduroy Festival Dress' in navy blue, which costs £795.

Beatrice is known to be a huge fan of the brand – like many other royals and stars – and owns a number of other dresses by the label's designer Susie Cave.

The Princess previously wore the full-length number to the late Queen's Platinum Party At The Palace celebrations in June 2022, though this time around she added a new detail to her look – a black satin belt to cinch in her waist. She added simple boots to complete her look and kept her hair and makeup laidback, as usual.

But though many love to see Beatrice in The Vampire's Wife – and plenty have commented on the royal's style evolution over the past few years – others have shared that they would like to see her in more of a variety of designers.

The signature silhouette of The Vampire's Wife dresses is regularly seen across red carpets and royal events alike, which is a testament to the ultra-flattering cut of the cult brand.

"I'm so tired of these dresses," one commenter wrote on Instagram – with another adding: "Omg, how many versions of this dress are there?"

The positive outweighed the negative, however. "Although a lot of royal ladies wear this dress I still love it," another royal fan responded, with another writing: "I love this dress in all colours on anyone who wears it. It looks absolutely fabulous on all body types. Maya Rudolph even wore it in a show called Loot."

It's true – The Vampire's Wife dresses never seem to go out of style. A-listers such as Jennifer Aniston, Rachel Weisz, Natalie Portman and Sienna Miller have all sported them, as well as the Princess of Wales, of course, who also loves Susie Cave's signature shapes.
