Princess Anne's birthday plans 'scaled back' as royal plans sailing trip
Princess Anne’s plans to mark her 70th birthday have been scaled back a bit according to her son-in-law.
Mike Tindall, who is married to Anne’s daughter Zara, said the royals were meant to be celebrating his mother-in-law’s “70 amazing years” in Scotland, but have had to rethink because of coronavirus.
Plans for Anne’s birthday had not been formally announced, but it was rumoured the Queen was keen to mark the occasion.
Speaking on The One Show, Tindall said: “We did have plans. It would have been up in Scotland, but obviously with COVID and obviously Aberdeen is being locked down a bit.
“I think everything has been scaled back a little bit.
“It’s a shame. I am sure we will do something to celebrate her 70 amazing years.
“She is just an incredible woman in terms of how much work she can get through in the year.
“We will be doing something, as yet I don’t know whether she knows, so my lips are sealed.”

The Queen and Prince Philip travelled to Balmoral, which is in Aberdeenshire, earlier this month for their summer break.
It’s expected that members of the Royal Family will travel to see her over the course of the summer, with William, Kate and their children likely to make an appearance.
It’s not thought that Harry, Meghan and Archie will be able to travel from California for a visit.
On Tuesday evening’s show, Alex Jones also asked Tindall if his children, six-year-old Mia and two-year-old Lena, received money from the Queen in a card.
He replied: “No, my mum and dad still do though. They still send it and they ring you 25 times to check that it has arrived in the post. Just transfer it.
“We haven’t quite changed my mum and dad yet, but no, I would like to say it doesn’t arrive in the post from the Queen.”

Vanity Fair reported that Anne was planning a sailing trip around the Scottish coast with her husband Vice Admiral Timothy Laurence.
She previously described sailing trips as time she can spend with “just my husband and I”, and friends have said it’s when she is able to relax.
