Prince William Seemingly Responds to Kate Middleton Health Speculation
The online speculation surrounding Kate Middleton's health has seemed to quiet down a little in recent days, but Prince William is reportedly not letting the discourse bother him.
In a new People story, a spokesman for the Prince of Wales said "his focus is on his work and not on social media," seemingly a response to the internet's frenzied theories about the Princess of Wales. Meanwhile, Kate is reportedly focusing on her family as she recovers at home at Adelaide Cottage, on the Windsor Castle estate.
When Kensington Palace announced Kate's abdominal surgery in January, Prince William postponed his engagements to be by her side as she recovered. He returned to work in February (shortly after King Charles's cancer diagnosis was announced), and at a gala dinner, he shared, "I'd like to take this opportunity to say thank you, also, for the kind messages of support for Catherine and for my father, especially in recent days. It means a great deal to us."
That has been Prince William's only public comment on his wife's health, and in recent engagements, he has kept to his policy of not sharing any new details. This is in line with what the Palace said regarding Kate's desire for privacy, saying, "She hopes that the public will understand her desire to maintain as much normality for her children as possible; and her wish that her personal medical information remains private."
Prince William has yet to have any engagements this week, though last week he visited a synagogue in London and spent a day in Wrexham to celebrate St. David's Day.
