Prince Louis, the youngest son of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, turns two on Thursday, and his cheeky smile is already making him one of our favourite royals.

The young royal is celebrating at Anmer Hall, the Cambridges’ home in Norfolk, where they have been staying during the coronavirus outbreak.

Louis was born in the Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, just like his older brother, George and sister, Charlotte.

His birthday is just two days after his great-grandmother’s, the Queen. She turned 94 this year.

Despite his age, Louis has already made a balcony appearance at Trooping the Colour and learnt the royal wave. He was also invited to Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace last year.

His mother Kate has revealed a few things about Louis, including that his favourite song is Happy Birthday - so he will be pleased to hear it on Thursday.

His first word was ‘Mary’, and Kate said it was because Mary Berry’s cookbooks are at his height in their kitchen. She also told the TV cook that she loves baking, and so she might well be whipping up the cake for Louis’s big day.

Louis also looks sure to inherit his mother’s love of the outdoors, as he was pictured happily playing in Kate’s Chelsea Flower Show garden.

Royal fans were delighted when a grown-up looking Louis was filmed joining in the Clap for Carers initiative in its first week, looking up at his older siblings.

Louis is also joining in with family video calls as the royals keep in touch using technology while they are in lockdown.

But dad William revealed there have been a few issues, mainly because Louis “sees the red button and he always wants to press the red button”.

Louis will have his birthday impacted by coronavirus this year, just like his great-grandmother, though he will have his immediate family around him.

It’s possible his mum and dad will make use of video calls to make sure his grandparents can wish him a happy birthday.
