How Prince Harry is reacting to Meghan Markle's bad press: report

Prince Harry is trying his best to help wife Meghan Markle settle into her new life, and he "feels responsible" for the difficulty she's having in doing so.

Dogged with countless negative headlines about her alleged demanding behavior and feud with sister-in-law Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Sussex has had it rough as of late. And, of course, that's not even considering the fact that her estranged family members continue to speak out against her in the press.

As her husband sees it, it's on him to make things right for the future mother of his children.

"Meghan made a huge sacrifice by moving across the pond, away from her mom and friends," a source told Us Weekly. "Marrying into the royal family isn't anywhere near as glamorous as it seems, so in a lot of ways Harry feels responsible for Meghan being so miserable."

Part of what has made the new royal so frustrated in her new life is her newfound inability to speak out on her own accord. Unlike during her days as an actress on "Suits," when she could take to social media or release a statement through a publicist to comment on a story about herself, as a royal, she's explicitly prohibited from doing so.

In addition to having to delete her social media accounts and lifestyle blog, The Tig, Markle must rely on the palace to release statements on her behalf -- and, though it recently dispelled a rumor about her and Kate having a verbal altercation, the royal family very rarely comments on gossip.

"Meghan is used to replying to any sort of controversy or comment on Twitter and through a publicist," another source told Us Weekly. "It's taken a while for Meghan to get used to having the palace more involved with her life and steering her public image, but she's finally getting comfortable and trusts that they have her best interests at heart."

Though the duchess is reportedly "bothered by all the reports and speculation" about what's really going on behind the scenes, it seems as though she's accepted the constraints that she now has to abide by. But Harry, it seems, is growing more frustrated with them.

"He's wanted to publicly make a statement many times defending Meghan and addressing the false rumors," an insider explained. "But was advised not to."

He reportedly "takes any attack on Meghan very personally," but considering that she and Kate buried the hatchet over Christmas, they should expect some of the negative attention to diminish, especially as they prepare to welcome their first child together later this year.

Nothing like a royal baby to put you back in the good graces of the public.
