Prince Harry kept his beard for the royal wedding — and the internet is ecstatic

Although it seems like all talk surrounding the royal wedding has been about Meghan Markle’s look — from what she would wear, to how her hair and veil would be styled — Prince Harry has also been at the center of some grooming questions.

Mainly about his facial hair.

While the groom has been rocking a beard for quite some time, people had speculated he would be clean-shaven for the nuptials, especially considering his military past.

According to rules of the British army, for which Harry served for a decade, active military members must be clean-shaven. However, having received special permission from the queen to wear his uniform, although he is no longer active, Harry was able to break some rules and rock his beard.

An announcement from the royal family said, “Both Prince Harry and The Duke of Cambridge will wear the frockcoat uniform of the Blues and Royals,” which was seen when the brothers appeared side-by-side at the chapel.

But even more than his dapper looks, onlookers were ecstatic to see that Harry’s beard remains.

It’s no surprise that Harry would be less traditional in his choice to keep his facial hair, as he has decided to wear a wedding ring — something not all British royals do.
