If there's one feeling we're taking into 2025, it's being unstoppable.

So Primark's latest campaign to relaunch their performance activewear collection – "Unstoppable You" – honestly could not come at a better time. And with a slew of iconic UK game-changers and public figures on hand to model the collection and share their inspiring stories, we're already feeling inspired.

The campaign celebrates resilience, and with a fresh year ahead, what better vibe to channel? With stars like TV personality and marathon world-record holder Adele Roberts; ex-pro rugby player and ‘The Gay Man’s Coach’ Keegan Hirst; Olympic swimmer Abbie Wood; and mental health advocate, author and podcaster Bryony Gordon (to name a few), the message is clear: unstoppable isn’t just a feeling, it’s a way forward.

This campaign also highlights the transformative power of exercise in shaping both mindset and life, as well as the importance of accessibility in the industry. Affordable activewear, for example, makes it easier for everyone to grab hold of their fitness journey with both hands.

We even had the chance to chat with some of the stars of the campaign, picking their brains about how exercise has changed them, the challenges they’ve overcome, and the role of accessibility in sport.

Podcaster Bryony Gordon

Mental health advocate, podcaster, author, journalist and content creator Bryony Gordon is a woman of many skills. She also speaks openly with her followers about her journey with mental illness and learning to live with it. One of her saving graces? Working out and moving her body.

'It’s the most important thing for me. It gets me out of the house (and my head) and reminds me that I’m capable of much more than my brain often gives me credit for!' she tells WH.

Recently, she hit the streets of London in nothing but her underwear, sweating it out and proving that marathon running knows no boundaries.

'I love running big races in my underwear as a statement, to show people that larger bodies can exercise too,' she says. 'I think it’s so important to see different bodies working out, it would have helped me so much when I was younger.'

Olympian Abbie Wood

Abbie Wood is just 25 years old, but in just a few short years the athlete made paces in her career and even earned herself a spot at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

After struggling with glandular fever at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, which took all of her energy and meant she 'agonisingly came 4th,' she had never been so determined to make it to Paris.

'Swimming is a sport based on very fine margins and some of the hardest working people in the world,' she told WH. 'It's impossible to be the best in the sport all the time so if you're not resilient and give up after your first loss you won't be in the sport or long at all. I've had countless ups and downs where I've had to bounce back and come back stronger.'

Resilience is the keyword. Abbie intrinsically knows the importance of pushing through – but not at your own expense – as well as how much of a difference backing yourself and feeling confident can make.

'I feel most unstoppable when I have the confidence to race anyone in swimming and never back down.'

PT and influencer Courtney Black

'My eating disorder really opened my eyes to how fitness can be such a huge positive to your life. From turning fitness from a punishment to something that makes me feel and live my very best life,' says Courtney Black.

The influencer and PT transformed her struggles with body image and disordered eating into a supportive community of health and fitness-minded individuals who support each other on their journey to fully embracing health with both hands.

From undereating and overtraining to training smarter and, most importantly, feeling her best, Courtney's inspiring journey makes her the perfect role model for the campaign.

'If you keep telling yourself you can’t do something, you will never try. To be unstoppable you have to be around people who may be faster and fitter than you to know that’s also possible for you!'

Presenter Adele Roberts

Adele Roberts doesn't do things by half. The TV presenter, radio personality, DJ, author, marathon runner – and, of course, WH cover model – is currently the world record holder for the fastest woman to complete the London Marathon with a stoma bag, clocking an impressive time of 3:30:22. It's safe to say she knows a thing or two about both resilience and the power of exercise.

Following a battle with bowel cancer, Adele now uses a stoma bag (named Audrey) in her day-to-day life.

'Movement is my medicine. It’s helped me stay positive, focused and moving forward in my life. It’s given me hope. It’s transformed me. Made me strong both physically and mentally. It’s something I can do every day to celebrate life,' she says. 'To make the most of my second chance, and without a doubt, it’s helped me reclaim my body back from cancer.'

She hasn't let anything slow her down, though. She’s currently running around the world –yes, you read that right – tackling all six major marathons across the globe.

'With everything I’ve been through – cancer, chemo and having a stoma – I’ve learned that even though things can go wrong, it’s not what happens to you, it’s how you respond.

Adversity makes you stronger, and if you don’t give up, you can’t be stopped.'

Primark's new performance collection is available from primark.com and in Primark stores from January 1 2025.
