Pregnant Kerry Washington Wins the Red Carpet at Last Night’s Emmy’s

She may be just a few weeks off giving birth to her second baby, but a glowing Kerry Washington still managed to steal the show at last night’s Emmy Awards.
Daring to bare her bump in a black, figure hugging Brandon Maxwell frock with cut-out sides, the Scandal star rocked the red carpet before going on to present an award at last night’s do.
A matching cape, Fred Leighton jewellery and Gianvito Rossi shoes completed the actress’ on-trend look. But it wasn’t just her daring sartorial choice that fans were delighted with, the Twitterverse also couldn’t get enough of her au natural hair.
The 39-year-old won high praise from the social media site after shunning a sleek over-styled do in favour of leaving her hair curly and natural.
“[Kerry Washington] your hair look is amazing!” one woman wrote. “Because of you I’m inspired to air dry my hair and embrace my thick curly hair. Thanks.”
“Could Kerry Washington be any more beautiful? The hair, the bump, the daring dress. Girl is flawless,” added another.
“I just want to nuzzle up to [Kerry Washington’s] hair,” commented one fan.

But according to Kerry’s hairstylist the buzz surrounding the mum-to-be’s locks was far from incidental. “[Kerry’s hair] has to be something very special,” Takisha Sturdivant-Drew explained to People. “Because she’s pregnant, it’s gonna have to be [a style] that will blow everyone away.”
And although this is one of the first times that fans have seen Kerry showcasing her natural hair at such a big event, the stylist went on to add that Kerry works hard to maintain the natural health of her hair by avoiding heating styling tools as much as possible on a day to day basis.
The second time mum-to-be, who already shares two-year-old daughter Isabelle with husband Nnamdi, took to the stage during the event to help present along with Tony Goldwyn.

And although the actress was pipped to the post for the lead actress in a limited series or movie award for her role in Confirmation, in every other way it was definitely Kerry’s night.
