This Sleek New 42-Foot Yacht Cruises the Seas With More Than 1,000 HP

Invictus Yacht is ready to satiate power-hungry seafarers.

The Italian yard just unveiled a gutsy outboard version of the TT420 yacht that debuted at Boot Düsseldorf in January. The new TT420S, which will fittingly premiere at the aforementioned boat show this coming January, has the same stylish silhouette as its predecessor but will deliver more power.

The original TT420 was fitted with two Volvo Penta D6 engines capable of producing 440 hp each, whereas its speedy successor is equipped with three Yamaha outboard engines rated at 350 hp that can collectively churn out 1,050 horses. To create room for the new propulsion system, Invictus had to tweak the original layout slightly. The central section of the swim platform had to be eliminated, for example.

The new setup has a few perks, too. The space that was previously occupied by the inboard engines has been converted into a practical storage area for toys. The garage remains unchanged and is capable of accommodating a seven-foot tender.

Once again designed by Christian Grande, the 42-foot newcomer features the taut lines that are synonymous with Invictus and a striking axe bow. The streamlined glass windshield blends seamlessly with a wave-like carbon hardtop that is quite unusual to see on a yacht of this size. In addition, a front opening ensures nice airflow when at anchor.

The first example will be finished in an exclusive Vogue White hue that complements both the warm and cool tones of the seating. Onboard, a walkway protected by high bulwarks gives access to all areas. Forward lies a large bow sundeck that can be converted into a chaise lounge come cocktail hour, while amidship sits a spacious dinette equipped with folding tables that can be tucked away when not in use. Two collapsible side terraces can also be added to the yacht to create more space on the main deck and connect guests to the sea.

Inside, Christian Grande has opted for a sprawling open floor plan. The spacious living area sports rotating U-shaped sofas that can transform into a comfy double bed on demand. To the aft is a cabin with separate beds and a large bathroom with a separate shower. Invictus says the generous bulwarks resulted in “remarkable internal heights,” so the interior feels light and airy.

Want to check it out in person? The inaugural Invictus TT420S will be displayed at Boot Düsseldorf from January 20 to 28, 2024.
