Every week, the contestants on The Great Pottery Throw Down wow us with their fabulous ceramic creations. And this week was no exception, as the potters were tasked with making a matching set of iconic gluggle jugs, which was loved by fans.

The gluggle jug was invented in the 1870s by Staffordshire ceramicists Thomas Forester & Sons. It gets its name from the gluggle sound made when water is poured from the jug. A pair of the jugs was commissioned for Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip in 1958 and presented to them at the Britannia Naval College in Dartmouth.

As a result, the jugs were given the royal seal – since then, the gluggle jug has become a collector's item and an iconic piece of homeware.

This week, the Throw Down potters had to create a pair of gluggle jugs, large and small, decorated in homage to a VIP in their life.

Cadi was crowned Potter of the Week thanks to her beautiful jugs in celebration of her sister – judge Keith was brought to tears by the beauty of her pottery.

And it's not just Keith who was inspired by this week's make – fans of the show loved the gluggle jugs and would love to buy their own. @kombell commented on Twitter "Right, where can I buy a gluggle jug?", while @janeinglefield commented "I want a gluggle jug now".

It's such a beautiful piece of pottery and would look perfect in any home. We can't wait to see what the potters make next week!
