We love a knitted or crochet postbox topper – they're such a fun crafty addition to any high street! Postbox toppers often appear to mark Christmas and Easter, but now postbox toppers to mark the 75th anniversary of the NHS have appeared up and down the country.

Crafters across the nation have picked up their knitting needles and crochet hooks to make the beautiful yarn tributes to the NHS.

This crochet creation in Heathfield, East Sussex was shared by Katie on Instagram. It features a 3D NHS sign, a paramedic, a nurse and a doctor, all made in gorgeous crochet.

Another postbox topper celebrating the NHS was spotted by Lindsay outside Whipps Cross University Hospital in Leytonstone. It boasts a rainbow crochet cake with candles and the words 'Thank You' crocheted underneath.

The postbox topper outside Wexham Park Hospital in Slough, Berkshire, features a whole cast of NHS nurses, paramedics, doctors and other medical staff. Above them is strung crochet 'Happy Birthday' bunting.

This postbox topper in Worcester is a stunning celebration of the NHS. We love the stethoscope wrapped round the birthday cake, and the detail on the flame of the candle.

Figures of our brilliant NHS workers are a popular feature on postbox toppers – like on this one spotted by Melanie in Ashtead, Surrey.

This postbox topper is made of a combination of knitted and crocheted work, and is a gorgeous celebration of the NHS!

Although easily removed, without permission yarn bombing can be considered illegal. If you want to create your own yarn bomb tribute, it's best to seek permission first.
