Portrait Artist of the Year is back for a tenth series – and we can't wait to watch the decade anniversary special starring Judi Dench.

The painting show, presented by Stephen Mangan and Dame Joan Blackwell, is back for a tenth series very soon – but before that, there's a special episode marking ten years of the show called Portrait Artist of the Decade.

When does Portrait Artist of the Decade air?

Portrait Artist of the Year starts with a special episode on Wednesday 4 October at 8pm on Sky Arts and Freeview, to mark ten years of the show.

The tenth series starts with a one-off special called Portrait Artist of the Decade, in which the winners of the previous nine series are invited to paint screen superstar Dame Judi Dench, in a bid for the prestigious title of the decade's best portrait painter. The show will also look at the winners' lives and careers since their turn on the competition.

The tenth series of Portrait Artist of the Year then continues from Wednesday 11 October at 8pm on Sky Arts and Freeview.

What is Portrait Artist of the Year?
