After the arrival of the millennial pink Kit Kat hit the headlines earlier this year, Nestlé has announced that the colourful chocolate snack is launching in Europe, and it's coming to the UK this month.

The four-finger wafer bar - officially known as Kit Kat Ruby - gets its colour from Ruby Ruby cocoa beans, which add a berry-flavoured taste to the product, without the addition of any flavour or colour.

This new Ruby variety was first introduced as the fourth type of chocolate (after milk, white and dark) by manufacturer Barry Callebaut last year. Following the launch of pink Kit Kats in Japan and Korea, where they're known as Kit Kat Chocolatory Sublime Rub, Nestlé will be bringing out the product across Europe and America.

It's not the only new flavour to try out, either. In February, lemon drizzle Kit Kats were spotted by shoppers in Asda, and a new Senses range has just launched. It includes hazelnut, salted caramel, and double chocolate flavours, which come individually wrapped a sharing box. Ideal.

If you want to be one of the first to get your hands on the new Ruby bars, head down to your local Tesco, where they will be available from 16th April.
