Phone cases are officially the new It bag

A couple of years ago, your status was demonstrated through the bag you owned. It cost a literal arm and leg to purchase a style from Chanel, Céline, Mulberry and more.

But now, the times are changing. Handbags are still a huge market but more and more women are seen without them, preferring to use pockets to store their valuables.

Enter the luxury phone case. With the majority of people spending a significant amount of time on their phones each day, shelling out cash on a case makes sense.

In the fashion world, the ultimate design is Louis Vuitton’s £745 case. Recreating the iconic Petit Malle bag, Nicolas Ghesquiere certainly started the trend with orders rolling in as soon as the house’s SS17 show finished.

Jeremy Scott has also capitalised on the accessory at Moschino. His McDonald’s fries cases took over Instagram in 2014. As did the Barbie mirror, teddy bear and cleaning spray designs.

While some pieces will set you back a pretty penny, others are more affordable, providing the perfect way to own a designer item.
