When everyone in the UK was watching Fleabag, the nation fell in love with Phoebe Waller-Bridge. The writer and actress' talent seems never-ending, from performing in her own one-woman theatre show to co-writing the next James Bond film.
And, it seems the star has turned her hand to yet another enterprise, this time by designing her own gin bottle in collaboration with Edinburgh Gin!
The new gin bottle is inspired by Fleabag. Edinburgh Gin says: "Specially screen-printed, the hand-drawn illustration features Phoebe looking into a deep blue Edinburgh night sky. Designed by her and filled with hidden details, the dreamlike bottle captures the wonder of her Fleabag experience – and the legendary role of Edinburgh in making it all happen. She first performed Fleabag at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2013, leading to rave reviews, her breakthrough moment and global recognition."
It gets even better, as the gin bottle is designed with artists and performers in mind. All profits from sales will contribute to the arts’ recovery by creating subsidies that will help the next generation of talent to return to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2022. Phoebe says: "I hope every purchase inspires outrageous and creative conversations over ice while bringing the beloved Fringe festival back to life. It’s important to add that Andrew Scott hand wrote a message on the bottle… if that isn’t incentive enough to hunt one down and hold it against your cheek, I don’t know what is.”
The bottles will first become available on the Edinburgh Gin website on 20 July, with fans able to register for pre-sale here. Priced at £48 each, the gin is then expected to go on general sale from early August before being delivered in August, during the Fringe Festival.
Collaborations don't get more iconic than this.
