Phillip Schofield 'encouraged over TV comeback' as he's seen out with Declan Donnelly

Phillip Schofield is reportedly being encouraged by his good friend Declan Donnelly to make a TV comeback. The two were recently spotted sharing laughs and enjoying a four-hour dinner in London, near their homes.

Phillip, 62, looked effortlessly stylish in a grey jumper, skinny grey trousers and black shoes, with a backpack slung over his shoulder. He was also seen walking his adorable pet puppy on a lead.

Britain's Got Talent host Declan, 48, sported a black sleeveless puffer jacket over a matching long-sleeved top, paired with black trousers and white trainers. His wife Ali Astall, whom he married in 2015, was also present.

The I'm A Celebrity host is among those urging Phillip to reclaim his spot in the spotlight, following his departure from This Morning and ITV due to an "unwise but not illegal" affair with a younger male colleague.

Despite the encouragement to return to presenting, Phillip remains hesitant, reports the Mirror.

A source revealed that since leaving This Morning, Phillip has found solace in the support of friends like Ant, Dec and Alison Hammond.

They added that Declan Donnelly has been one of his biggest supporters, stating: "They have all been rallying around him and their support, especially from Dec who is such a good friend, has really helped Phil."

Despite Phillip's current hesitations, TV bosses are showing keen interest in his comeback. A source has stated that "some TV executives have been in touch with Phil about a possible return and his friends have told him he should consider it.

"Phil is still shell shocked by everything that happened last year and is happy at the moment to focus on rebuilding his life with the support of his friends and family."

The insider added: "Whether he will make a comeback - whether it's on TV or radio - is still undecided but the offers are there if he wants to pursue them. His friends have told him they will support him all the way."

Phillip had not been seen alongside Declan Donnelly since the This Morning scandal broke in May 2023.

Despite previously denying any romantic involvement when The Sun Phillip's affair in December 2019, the junior colleague finally owned up to the truth, taking Phillip to issue a public apology before immediately cutting ties with ITV.

Holly Willoughby continued her role on This Morning, until she too departed in October 2023 after 14 years on the show.
