Peter Andre reveals unique Welsh name he 'loves' for newborn daughter in baby name update

Peter Andre has shared that he's quite taken with a distinctive Welsh name for his newborn daughter as the couple is still on the hunt for the perfect moniker.

The 51 year old heartthrob, known for his hit Mysterious Girl, and his wife Emily, who is 34, haven't yet settled on a name for their little girl, who was born earlier this month. In the meantime, they've been lovingly referring to her as "bubba" while the six-week deadline to register her name draws closer.

In a candid moment, Peter revealed that he's passed the baton to Emily since they have "less than four weeks before we have to register her". Despite this, the couple has been inundated with name suggestions from eager fans.

It seems a Welsh name could be in the running after the name Seren, which means 'star' in Welsh, caught Peter's attention. Chatting with Wales Online, the star gushed: "I love that! "

He elaborated: "I would [choose a Welsh name] because someone else suggested Irish as well. There are similarities, maybe not completely, but even with Carys and Seren, there are a couple of Irish names that were mentioned to me that are similar to that. It's giving me this thinking outside the box."

Choosing names hasn't been straightforward for Peter and Emily, who also share two other children, Millie and Theo. They initially named Millie 'Rose', but decided to change it after six weeks as it "didn't suit her".

Peter, who shares two older children, Princess, 16, and Junior, 18, with his ex-wife Katie Price, has been mulling over potential names for his newborn daughter. He told his followers: "Athena is also in the running. Not sure how Ems feels about it but I LOVE it."

He also suggested that "Charlotte is also in the running. I like Charlie."

However, he later revealed that those names have now been scrapped. In his OK! column, Peter shared: "We don't have long now until we need to register her, so the clock is ticking.

"I loved Olivia, Charlotte and Athena, but Emily didn't get too excited about those, so they're off the table. It's a big decision! Someone on Instagram told us the best hack when trying out different names, and that's to write it out in a card.

"So, pretend you're writing a birthday or Christmas card to someone and sign it "from Peter, Emily, Junior, Princess, Millie, Theo..." and then add the new name at the end. I think that's an amazing idea. Watch this space!"

When asked by a fan if they had finally chosen a name, Peter confessed: "Still no name. Literally struggling. She doesn't look like anyone [of] the names we have thought of."

Speaking to OK!, Peter said: "We've been trying out names that our friends and family have suggested, but then Emily and I don't seem to agree on them. So I think it's only fair that Emily decides I hope she picks a good one."
