Doting dad-of-five Peter Andre has admitted his fears over eldest children Junior, 19, and Princess, 17, whom he shares with ex-wife Katie Price, going out on their own amid growing knife crime rates. Last week, 14-year-old boy Kelyan Bokassa was tragically stabbed to death on a London bus, leaving Peter shaken as he sent prayers to Kelyan's family and looked back on his own fears for his teens.

Taking to his weekly column, Peter, 51, admitted he was 'petrified' when Princess and Junior first began to head out on public transport themselves, but had to let his kids become independent. Elsewhere in his column, Peter provides an update on his elderly parents after spending time with them in Australia, and shares why he won't be watching any TV this month.

A Scary World

It was so tragic to hear about the 14-year-old boy, Kelyan Bokassa, who was stabbed on a London bus. I can’t imagine that feeling as a parent. I remember when Junior and Princess started to go on trains – I was petrified.

Sometimes I wouldn’t let them but then I thought, you need to let kids grow up and can’t wrap cotton wool around them. But the problem is, the world is unsafe and you can’t protect them all of the time. My heart aches for that young boy’s family. Knife crime is a real issue that needs to be dealt with. My thoughts are with his family.

Quality Time

These last few days with my mum and dad in Australia have meant the world to me. My brother Michael and I came to visit and have managed to spend some real quality time with our parents. Although I had some important work meetings, thankfully, I could do them here on the Gold Coast and it didn’t take away from my family time.

Unfortunately, our mother’s health has declined a lot, which has been tough, but I won’t forget this time we’ve had. My brother, sister and I have been telling her how much we love her multiple times daily! Knowing what they did for us as children, it’s an honour to be able to help her. My dad is doing OK, although I’ve noticed a decline in him too. He’s 92 in July, which is amazing.

TV's On Hold

I’m missing many shows on TV at the moment. One that is getting people talking is Love Island : All Stars. Although I have watched it before, I don’t think I’ll manage to tune in – I’m just going to be very busy over the next few weeks with the Best Of Frankie Valli tour countrywide. I’m happy to say many venues have sold out, so if you haven’t got your tickets yet then definitely get them as there aren’t many left! I can’t wait to get performing.

Preparation Is Key

This year is a year of achievement and it’ll be my most creative yet. I've been prepping everything for months when it comes to my new film, album and shows, so now 2025 is starting on the right foot.

I always say, why wait until January to kickstart a resolution or change? Start preparing early and then you’re already doing it for the new year. It’s going to be a busy one! As well as my first feature film this year, I will also release my first album in over 15 years and have some huge TV projects, so watch this space.

Fitness Fun

Every January people go on about going on a health kick, and I understand that thought process. But something that has always worked for me is keeping a balance all year round, so you never get the crazy urge to binge. My motto is “it’s fine”. I really do believe that balance is key, some people don’t agree with that but I do. If you’re stuck, our #ItsFine book can definitely help.
