People are worried that the Duchess of Cambridge braved a snowstorm without a coat

The Duchess of Cambridge knows how to rock a coat. From bespoke military-style jackets, to colour pop brights, and recycled maternity coats, the 36-year-old royal is rarely seen without some kind of stylish outerwear.

Except in a snowstorm it seems.

Last night, the pregnant royal, who is due to give birth to her third child in April, braved the snowy conditions to visit exhibition showcasing pioneering Victorian-era photographs at the National Portrait Gallery in London.

And though she looked absolutely stunning in a gorgeous floral dress by Orla Kiely, costing £490, royal fans couldn’t help but wonder if she wasn’t a little chilly sans-coat?

It wasn’t the only cold-weather staple the duchess chose to forgo either. The Duchess also decided to leave her 100 derniers back at Kensington Palace, opting instead to team her towering nude suede heels with bare legs. Brrr!

ICYMI the UK is currently battling the beast from the East, but the duchess wasn’t about to let a bout of bad weather, er, snow, on her parade.

Maybe she loved her Orla Kiely dress (which is available to buy now from Very by the way) so much she didn’t want to cover it with a coat, or maybe she figured that the 30 seconds she’d actually be out in the cold was worth the sartorial risk? Who knows?

The evening event was part of a royal double-header for the pregnant royal, who is a patron of the National Portrait Gallery and wrote the foreward for the exhibition.

Earlier in the day, she’d joined husband Prince William, Prince Harry, and his fiancée Meghan Markle, at the Royal Foundation Forum in London, the first royal engagement the foursome had appeared at together.

Dressed in a vivid blue dress from maternity brand Seraphine, which cost a reasonable £99, the pregnant Duchess showcased her growing baby bump in the empire line cut.

Meghan on the other hand donned a £1,415, navy cross-over dress with silk trim from Jason Wu, which is available to buy from Net-a-Porter.

With or without coat, there’s no doubt the Duchess has been totally rocking it in the maternity style stakes.
