Calls for Love Island to be cancelled are mounting as the show's viewer ratings reportedly saw a 'new low'.

The social media page Super TV, known for dishing out "latest TV news, iconic pop culture highlights and opinions", shared a post on Monday, January 20, spilling the tea on Love Island: All Star’s ratings. It turns out that Sunday’s episode was, so far, the least watched since the very first series.

Super TV's post caption read: "RATINGS! #LoveIsland has already fallen to new lows with last night being the least watched episode of the show since series 1, with just 640k viewers and that’s without competition from The Traitors #LoveIslandAllStars."

The post has racked up 510,000 views, 3,800 likes and 285 retweets. One user didn't hold back about the ITV2 show, commenting: "They need to bin this, that’s lower than a YouTube video." Another chimed in with a blunt assessment, writing: "Let’s be honest it needs (to be) axed at this point."

A third expressed their disinterest, saying: "I stopped watching after Ekin Su’s season" prompting someone to reply: "Millions did! That was the last time it had any substantial viewership."

One viewer has questioned the decision to air Love Island All Stars in January, saying: "People are focused on starting the new year and often feel the January blues. Last thing you want to be watching is folk living it up in a villa while you're stuck in 24 hours night. Keep it to summer, everyone's happier."

Although many are shocked by the 'low' ratings, viewership may go up as consolidated data for each episode doesn't show until seven days after it airs. On Monday night, ITVX has also stated it had its best day since the Euros final in July 2024, as Love Island: All Stars hit 3 million streams.

Love Island: All Stars, which brings back former contestants to the villa for another chance at romance, kicked off on January 15. It is hosted by Maya Jama and narrated by Iain Stirling, and can be caught Sundays to Fridays at 9pm on ITV and ITVX.

The star-studded line-up for Love Island: All Stars 2025 includes Grace Jackson, Ron Hall, Tina Stinnes, Casey O’Gorman, Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, Luca Bish, India Reynolds, Marcel Somerville, Elma Pazar, Catherine Agbaje, Olivia Hawkins, Ronnie Vint, Scott Thomas, Gabby Allen, Curtis Pritchard, Kaz Crossley and Nas Majeed. Among the most recognisable faces is Ekin Su, who won season 8 of Love Island with 'Italian stallion' Davide Saclimenti in 2022.

Their chemistry was undeniable and they even launched a series, Ekin-Su and Davide: Homecomings, where they visited their home countries of Turkey and Italy. However, the couple announced their split on Instagram in January 2024. Another familiar face is Luca Bish, who also appeared on season 8 of Love Island and made it to the final with Gemma Owen, finishing as runners-up to Ekin-Su and Davide.
