Sir Paul McCartney fans are convinced he has confirmed a headlining slot at Glastonbury after he shared a very odd Wordle score.

The Beatles legend, who was due to perform at the 2020 festival before it was called off because of COVID, posted a score for the online word puzzle on Twitter.

However, eagle-eyed fans spotted that his answer contained six letters, when Wordles are usually five, leading many to think the word was actually “Glasto”.

The line of green boxes had “Wordle 121 25/6" written above it.

As the music festival runs from June 22 to June 26, the “25/6” could refer to Saturday June 25.

There are 121 days until that date, which could explain the other number.

Music fans are now positive the cryptic tweet was Sir Paul’s way of revealing his news.

One posted: “25th June is the Saturday of Glastonbury festival, 121 days away. Will be a brilliant night.”

“Glastonbury here we come...” said another, while one excited fan tweeted: “GLASTO baby!!!!”

“Called it!” said another.

“Perfect that he gets to celebrate his eightieth birthday and play @glastonbury a week later. @PaulMcCartney could deliver one of the most important Glasto sets ever.”

He was due to perform there in 2020 but the event was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Last year’s festival ended up being axed because of COVID too.

Other acts on the line-up this year include Motown legend Diana Ross, 'Bad Guy' singer Billie Eilish and rapper Little Simz.
